Modern Mediterranean meets Turkish Tradition

Driftwood was lovingly created by Bridget and Yusuf, a couple whose shared dream was to open a restaurant that felt like an extension of their own home (but with better lighting, a sea breeze and a more exotic cocktail menu!)

Bridget, originally from the UK, is well known in the community for her down-to-earth warmth, friendly disposition and a knack for remembering your name (and your favourite drink).

Yusuf, proudly Turkish, brings his love for food and hosting along with a long career in hospitality. Not to mention a special talent for making everyone feel welcome!

We met the owners, Bridget and Yusuf – what lovely, friendly and helpful people. You can see they’ve poured their heart into this place. We will definitely be back!

Together they build Driftwood on a foundation of fresh, honest food and a passion for community and authenticity. You will find a warm welcome, no pretence and no rush. A relaxed, but high quality dining experience designed to make you feel at home, no matter where you’re visiting from.

Experience the best of Lapta

Located on the coast of Lapta, a charming village at on the coast of North Cyprus, known for its rugged cliffs, mountainous trails, and golden sunsets, Driftwood offers a front row seat to the show with a backdrop of the Beşparmak mountain range. Whether you’re a local dropping in for your usual or a traveller discovering North Cyprus for the first time, our doors are always open – and the sea is just a few steps away!

“We chose to eat on the pier and weren’t disappointed. The sunset view over dinner was beautiful. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was just perfect.”

We proudly source local ingredients, locally and freshly caught fish, and showcase contemporary flavours alongside traditional favourites. When we say home made, we mean it. Bridget bakes a delectable selection of disserts herself, every day and the sea bass is as fresh as the breeze rolling in from the Mediterranean.
